MISSION OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

The career’s mission is to transmit knowledge and train future Electrical Engineers of recognized quality and academic excellence at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; innovators with capacity for research, creation and application of knowledge, both in generation, transmission, distribution and final use of electric energy; with a vocation for intellectual and social leadership; with the capacity to respond to the needs of energy development at a national and international level; with a social conscience and an active defender of natural resources, within the framework of the principles established by the AAUCA and with projection to international prominence.

PROFILE OF THE GRADUATE OF THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING CAREER

  • Design and build electrical energy systems applying techniques and tools related to the rational use of electrical energy in accordance with regulations.
  • Operate and maintain electrical systems, applying techniques and tools according to the quality of energy, respecting national and international standards, to reduce problems related to it.
  • Design and install electronic power circuits applying the knowledge and tools in electronics and electricity, to improve electrical energy control systems.
  • Develop and operate industrial process control systems, using specialized hardware and software, to improve their efficiency.
  • Manage companies or departments related to electrical energy through the proper use of administrative tools and techniques, with honesty.

PROFESSIONAL EXITS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

A graduate of this career may work in:

  • National Electric Power Company (SEGESA).
  • Private Telecommunications Companies, (GECOMSA, MUNI …).
  • Service provider companies for local broadband data transmission and computer networks and general fiber optic applications.
  • National Telecommunications Company (GETESA).
  • Industry in General.
  • Consulting companies for the design and installation of electrical and electronic systems.
