MEETINGS ON 18 AND 19 APRIL BETWEEN TWO MEMBERS OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE AAUCA RECTOR’S TEAM

 Meeting between H.E. the First Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Sports, and the AAUCA Rector in the presence of the Academic and Administrative Vice-Rectors, the Secretary General, and the Head of Finance of AAUCA: the main objective was to present some of the most important strategic issues and challenges that the AAUCA is facing to H.E. the Minister. The Rector highlighted the most important factors for a successful university performance, for the kind consideration of H.E. the Minister, the most important being the full autonomy for the AAUCA. Also, several project-funding requests were presented and discussed.

1. Meeting with the Minister of Finance, Economy and Planning, and the AAUCA Rector in the presence of the Administrative Vice-Rector, and the Head of Finance of AAUCA: the main objective was to present some of the most important strategic issues and challenges that the AAUCA is facing to H.E. the Minister. The Rector highlighted the most important factors for a successful university performance, for the kind consideration of H.E. the Minister, the most important being the full autonomy for the AAUCA. The AAUCA Rector also requested a restoration of the AAUCA budget for the current year (2021) which has been cut by 65% by the Government.
